Lynn Maliszewski is a freelance writer based in Brooklyn. She curated and composed the “Procedural Musings” column for Bomb magazine’s blog and has been published in ArtWrit, No. 3, HAHA Magazine, Hyperallergic, and Whitehot Magazine. She also hosts her own blog, “Contemporaneous Extension,” a compendium of aesthetic interests, archived exhibitions and artists, and uncensored inferences. Her interview with Harold Koda of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in this issue expands on the museum’s recent retrospective, “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty,” and the Institute’s evolution.
