Calvin Klein Windows at Barneys Celebrate Raf Simons’ Debut

New window installations at Barneys New York celebrate designer Raf Simonsdebut collection for Calvin Klein. It’s the first time the luxury department store and the American fashion house have done this kind of collaboration.

The display is the result of a discussion around Americana between Barneys’ Creative Director Matt Mazzucca and Simons. Modern and motion activated takes on the cowboy (tapping boots), the home (self-rocking chair), and marching band (self-playing drums) are featured in each vitrine.

“I am proud and excited about the simultaneous unveiling of the Calvin Klein 205W39NYC creative concept in the Barneys New York and Calvin Klein Madison Avenue store windows this month. This collaboration marks a special moment for me in the midst of New York Fashion Week and the fall season, and I would like to thank Barneys for their creative partnership, thoughtful collaboration and support of my debut collection for Calvin Klein,” said Simons.

“Raf Simons’ first collection for Calvin Klein is an historic moment for the brand and for Barneys New York,” said Matt Mazzucca, Creative Director, Barneys New York. “To celebrate, we collaborated on our adjacent Madison Avenue window displays for the first time ever. The concept combines the collection’s interpretation of traditional American themes with modern, nontraditional materials and motion to create an invisible world,” said Mazzucca.

The Calvin Klein windows can be viewed on Madison Avenue and downtown, as well as at Barneys in Beverly Hills, Chicago, and San Francisco.
