Santoni, Giuseppe Zanotti, TOD’s, and Valextra: MFW SS19

Furthering our coverage of Milan Fashion Week, here we have some of our favorite new collections of shoes and accessories from Santoni, Giuseppe Zanotti, TOD’s, and Valextra.

Santoni’s Spring/Summer 2019 accessories were presented in an immersive installation by Flaccavento/Pippolini entitled “O.O.O. (Out Of Office)” and displayed within the gilded ceilings and parqueted floors of Palazzo Gallarati Scotti. Pieces like botanical print dusters, shiny silver heeled mules, and brightly colored ankle boots were staged in office settings—thrown over armchairs, lying under desktops, and placed beneath coatracks. A few standout pieces included a sparkly double-faced jacket in champagne, and the orange, gold, and beige striped sandals with the tie-around ankle straps.

Valextra’s responded to the fashion world’s current obsession with logomania, debuting a set of accessories in the “#NoLogoMyLogo” collection. Choosing from six styles, buyers are treated to a special bag with a print created out of their initials—in the color and size of their liking. While each of the bags will bear the individual’s distinctive personal logo, the collection stays true to the brand’s singular style by featuring graphic prints, loud colors, and clean, simple lines and detailing.

Celebrating Giuseppe Zanotti’s 25th anniversary, the Spring/Summer 2019 collection is a tribute to the determined city woman who is confident in her choices. The collection features details like large solitaire stones and crystal embellishments on daytime sandals, updating classic accessories to transform daily life into a red-carpet experience. Luxurious fabrics like crocodile leather, silk, and suede are seen on a variety of timeless styles like a simple rectangular clutch, as well as a peachy high-heeled sandal with a dainty jeweled buckle and large rose embellishment.

Simple and refined, TOD’s illustrated a story of Italian beauty and craftsmanship. By debuting a collection of iconic styles, the brand brings luxury and quality to everyday accessories. For footwear, we saw a selection of soft leather loafers and sandals with fringe and tassel details—seen in several earthy hues, animal prints, and the occasional blue or orange. For handbags, the collection included a wide variety of leather styles, including cross-body bags, totes, and bucket bags. Two highlights were the camel-colored fringed handbag, and the two-toned navy loafers with a tasseled heart detail.
