The Ultimate Holiday 2018 Gift Guide

No contributor

Now that Miami is over—it’s time to focus on the holidays ahead. Here, we’ve put together the ultimate gifting guide for the special people in your life—and yes, that may include snagging a few items to stick in your own stocking, too. We won’t tell!

Prospect NY has no shortage of good gifting items, but a couple of our favorites are the store’s second Judy Chicago collection and the latest releases from Misha Kahn. Chicago’s limited-edition pieces include a charming replica of A Goddess for You in soap bar form, while Kahn’s “Bellyflop” collection is the ultimate set for the outdoor entertainer, featuring items like serving trays, bottle openers, and glass straws in the artist’s singular, quirky style.

The stylish, modern design objects and accessories for the home in Armani/Casa’s assemblage can be the perfect personal gift, or a thoughtful present for your coworker. Some favorites include the multicolored wooden inlayed boxes, the dome-shaped alabaster lanterns, and leather-and-walnut Giorgio Armani logo puzzle.

Hermès has introduced the new Cape Cod watch, which features the same square-in-a-rectangle design created by Henri d’Origny’s 1991 sketch. Available in black or white, the timepiece features a square lacquered dial with an anchored chain design, a rectangular case set with 42 diamonds, and a strap of either black or Chantilly alligator leather.

MZ Wallace’s portable Metro Organizer will be just right for your friend who is always on the go. Available in navy or green camo, the tote has plenty of room for your laptop, charging cords, and more, plus a cute, padded exterior for protection.

If you’re in search of something sweet and simple, then Chanel’s holiday jewelry debuts might be just what you’re looking for. While the collection includes a variety of rings, earrings, bracelets, and necklaces, a couple of the highlights are the white gold Comète Spirale ring, which has 39 sparkling diamonds, and the Camélia Ajouré ring in pink gold

Continuing with the charming Toile de Jouy motif seen in Dior’s Cruise 2019 collection, the house has released a selection of textile accessories for the holiday season. Reinterpreted by Maria Grazia Chiuri, the 18th century French print has been updated to include wildlife like giraffes and tigers, and can be seen on an assortment of pieces like handbags, scarves, and shoes.

If your four-legged friend is just as much a part of the family as anyone else, then you’ll fall in love with Moncler’s collaboration with Poldo Dog Couture. A continuation of the brand’s Genius project, the mini collection features hooded waistcoats and a lighter weight hoodie style (both featuring the iconic nylon laqué) to keep your pup looking cute and cozy during the winter months.

The only problem you’ll have when shopping Louis Vuitton for your holiday gifts is not buying it all for yourself. In addition to an adorable selection of ornaments and knickknacks, the house has put together a plethora of items like handbags, accessories, and fragrance cases for all of your gift-giving needs. For her, we would recommend the classic Trunk Clutch or the Tambour All Black timepiece. For him, our favorites are the Multiple wallet and the customizable belt.

KARA’S Juice Bolero Scarf is an item you’ll want to buy for your sister, your cousin, and your best friend—just before adding one to your own wish list, of course. Available in purple or black, the fuzzy Mongolian shearling accessory is designed to be worn either as a scarf or with your hands through the sleeves as a shrug. The best part? The scarf features a hidden interior pocket that would be perfect for your phone and the rest of your evening out essentials.

The Mark Hotel in New York City paired up with La Ligne to offer hotel guests the most laidback shopping experience imaginable. Featured in each suite during the holiday season, the brand’s Varsity Tee and Boudoir Pant are available for guests to try on from the comfort of their room and purchase on the spot.

If you’re looking for a wearable gift that won’t be forgotten, then you’ll want to take a look at La Doyenne’s “Transitional” collection. The New York-based womenswear brand offers highly functional styles designed for the contemporary woman, specializing in pieces that can easily cross over from boardroom to black tie. One of the standout pieces would have to be the red Stanwyck overcoat, which features short, belled sleeves and a simple calf-length hem with colorful beaded details.

L’Objet’s collaboration with the Haas Brothers is one of our favorite gifting picks of the season. A blend of imaginative minds and skilled craftsmanship, the design duo’s whimsical style sees the additions of animal-like characteristics to everyday objects. The collection features pieces like a printed stationary set and a Lazy Susan catchall with surprisingly adorable horns and limbs.
