Social Spotlight: Bryan Avila, The Producer BDB

Social media is changing the way we discover and explore cultural happenings and changes. To celebrate this new wave,  we’re highlighting social media game-changers in our “Social Spotlight” to hear more about their tips and tricks on navigating exposure on Instagram.

Below, we hear from the talented Miami-based artist Bryan Avila, known as The Producer BDB.

WHITEWALL: Who are your top 5-10 people to follow?

BRYAN AVILA: @badgalriri cause she’s Rihanna and started my career. @artnet for art news. @chrsitiesinc for the latest auction results and inspiration. @impermanent_art for the latest in street art in LA. @mouchegallery because that’s a place to get my art (lol). @nazem_art is a great page with artists and their work. @byflore, my homie. And @hypebeast.

WW: Top tip for social media?

BA: Hashtags and take good pictures! Be creative. Originality always helps.

WW: Best recent follower interaction?

BA: I’ve had the Illumanti DM me asking me to join. And gotten invites for free food, which I took advantage of. Lol.

WW: One rule you live by on social media?

BA: Always be nice. 🙂
