On May 17 in New York, luxury brand Loro Piana launched “The Rare Walk”—a walk-in boutique in the Meatpacking District. The boutique debuted in conjunction with an eponymous digital campaign featuring photography by Arielle Bobbs-Willis, and a dance and short film choreographed by David Parsons. Open through July 8, the pop-up is the brand’s first occupation of the 1,600-square-foot corner space on Ninth Avenue, which will become its permanent home later this year.
Inside the colorful boutique, visitors can be treated to an unexpected retail experience, where details like tactile displays, a tiny indoor garden atrium, and a giant suede made-to-measure wall highlight iconic shoe styles and a selection of special accessories.
Exclusively at the space, Loro Piana’s white-soled Sumer Walk and Open shoe styles are now available made-to-order for the first time in the U.S., giving clients the option to personalize with multiple colors, linings, materials, and added initials or symbols. The boutique also includes an abundance of other items best representing the brand’s DNA, like the new Traveller men’s sneaker, Aylit cashmere scarves, and the Stripe Tote Bag in blue denim.
